Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LifePlace Retreat and Events Center website, mobile applications, and event services (the "Services"). By using the Services or booking an event, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. The agreement

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and LifePlace Retreat and Events Center, a Philippines-registered hospitality establishment based at Brgy. Sulsugin Ibaba, Alfonso, Cavite. If you are booking on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Your account

You can use parts of the Services without an account. To book an event, manage a booking, or sign a contract, you will need an account. You are responsible for keeping your authentication factors (password, magic-link emails, biometric data) confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Bookings, quotes, contracts

  • A quote is a price offer valid for the period stated in the quote (typically 14 days). It does not reserve a date.
  • A date is reserved when (a) a deposit has been paid and (b) the corresponding contract is signed by you and counter-signed by LifePlace.
  • Contracts are legally binding electronic documents under Republic Act No. 8792 (Electronic Commerce Act). Drawn signatures captured in the mobile app are stored as image data alongside the time-stamped contract record.
  • Headcount changes after the contract is signed are accommodated where possible. Where they materially affect cost (food, staffing, additional facilities), a supplementary invoice is issued and must be settled before the event.

4. Payments

  • All prices are quoted in Philippine Pesos (₱) unless otherwise stated and are inclusive of applicable Philippine VAT.
  • We accept payment cards via Stripe, and GCash, Maya, and GrabPay via PayMongo. Bank transfers and over-the-counter cash deposits are accepted with coordinator approval.
  • The deposit due on contract signing is the amount specified in your contract.
  • Installments and their due dates are listed in your payment schedule. Late installments accrue interest at the rate specified in your contract.
  • All payments are non-refundable except where Section 5 applies. Receipts are issued automatically once each payment is confirmed by the payment processor.

5. Cancellation and rescheduling

Cancellation terms are defined in each event contract. The default schedule is:

  • 120+ days before the event: deposit is forfeited; all other payments are refunded.
  • 60–119 days before the event: deposit plus 25% of the contract value is forfeited.
  • 30–59 days before the event: deposit plus 50% of the contract value is forfeited.
  • Less than 30 days before the event: no refund.

Rescheduling is treated separately from cancellation. You may reschedule once per booking, subject to date availability, without penalty up to 60 days before the original event date. Beyond that, a rescheduling fee may apply at the operator's discretion.

6. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delays or failure to perform due to causes beyond reasonable control — including typhoons, earthquakes, fire, floods, pandemics, government-declared lockdowns, civil unrest, terrorism, or strikes. If a force majeure event makes performance impossible on the contracted date, we will work with you in good faith to reschedule. Where rescheduling is not possible, deposits and other payments are refunded in proportion to the work not yet performed.

7. Conduct at the venue

To keep every event safe and enjoyable:

  • You and your guests will follow our published house rules, on-site safety briefings, and any reasonable instructions from LifePlace staff.
  • Alcohol service is permitted only with prior coordinator approval and is subject to Philippine law (no service to minors).
  • Smoking is permitted only in designated areas.
  • Use of fireworks, drones, or other regulated items requires written permission in advance.
  • You are responsible for any damage to LifePlace property caused by you, your guests, or your vendors. We may charge documented repair costs against your security deposit or invoice them separately.

8. Photography and intellectual property

LifePlace may take photographs of public areas and shared spaces during routine operations. Photographs of identifiable individuals are not published without the individual's consent. You retain rights to any photographs and videos you produce. Where you grant us permission to publish your event photography on our marketing surfaces, that permission is revocable in writing.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Philippine law, LifePlace's total liability arising out of or related to your event is limited to the total amount you have paid us under the relevant contract. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, loss of business opportunity, or damage to reputation.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death and personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you breach these Terms, your contract, or our house rules; if a payment is materially late and remains unpaid after written notice; or where required by law. You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Privacy → Delete account, subject to any outstanding contractual obligations.

11. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms will first be addressed in good faith between the parties. If unresolved, the dispute will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tagaytay City, Cavite, Philippines.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted at /terms. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email of any material change before it takes effect. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
